IGNOU Launches PG Diploma in Communication for Development

The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) has launched a new Postgraduate Diploma (PG) in Development Communication (PGDDC). The program will be offered by the university’s School of Journalism and New Media Studies. The duration of the program is one year. Applicants can apply online at https://ignouadmission.samarth.edu.in/.

Applicants with a bachelor’s degree in any discipline can apply to the program. The course fees are Rs 5000 which must be paid in one installment.

The program includes courses in Human Development and Communication, Media in Communication for Development, Development Journalism for Social Change, Development: Information and Communication Technologies. Students can also choose an elective from the Research Methods in Development Communication Project Work and Project Workbook.

The program aims to bridge the gaps in the process between planning agencies on the one hand and all other stakeholders in the development process with a targeted understanding of the masses. The PGDDC will help students acquire academic knowledge and professional skills. They will develop a good understanding of the fundamental issues of the development process.
