HEB has the best online ordering and curbside pickup in the country, according to consumer survey
SAN ANTONIO – San Antonio-based grocery giant HEB is turning heads again after taking # 1 in the United States for its online ordering and curbside pickup services, according to a recent consumer survey .
The survey, conducted by global research firm Ipsos, released the results of its e-commerce experience report on July 12 after collecting feedback from 2,000 Americans at 14 grocery chains nationwide.
Consumers chose HEB as the top spot for online orders and curbside pickup, according to the survey. Publix came second, followed by Aldi for third.
“HEB leads all grocery stores in large part due to stock availability, the ability to schedule pickup times, and good order pickup instructions. Perfect accuracy, no fees or minimums, and excellent communication help them dominate the category, ”the study says.
As consumers used online ordering and curbside service when the COVID-19 pandemic began, the trend has also managed to continue this year.
According to Ipsos, 78% of Americans have “increased their use of in-store and curbside pickup options” since the start of the pandemic. Currently, 69% of those surveyed said they would continue to use these options.
According to Ipsos, grocery stores were rated for their online ordering and curbside pickup services based on three main factors:
Ease of ordering
Communication around pickup
Punctuality and accuracy of order fulfillment
As of May 17, 2021, all HEB stores in Texas have started offering free curbside pickup, instead of charging a fee of $ 4.95 for orders with a minimum purchase of $ 35.
HEB customers can order online through the grocery giant’s website or mobile app. There are over 250 HEB curbside locations in HEB stores across Texas.
