Clients and Local Partners

Since MARC's inception, with the support of over fifteen of the nation's leading philanthropies, including the Ford, Rockefeller, and MacArthur foundations, the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, and in partnership with dozens of the nation's premier universities and research centers, MARC has completed (or is in the process of completing) over forty studies of regional polarization. See below for a list of our clients and partners.

MARC's studies are often produced in collaboration with local organizations seeking reform in terms of land use and affordable housing, taxes and revenue sharing, and improved regional decision-making. All over the country, MARC's local partners have been successful in using MARC data and maps to build support for a variety of policy reforms.

Elected officials and regional activists in many of the regions MARC has studied (such as Denver, Philadelphia, Seattle, St. Louis, and Washington D.C.) are also using MARC's research for education and outreach on issues of regional equity and sprawl. In these places, MARC's maps and study findings have become important tools for building the kinds of broad-based coalitions that are necessary ultimately to achieve regional reform.

If you would like more information about partnering with MARC on a study of your region, visit our Contacts page for our e-mail and mailing address.
